Live-action movies can win awards for their fabulous costumes. The princesses of Frozen 2 are dressed just as elegantly but don’t often get the recognition of their live-action counterparts. The visual development artists of Frozen 2, Griselda Sastrawinata-Lemay and Brittany Lee shared how they changed up Anna (Kristen Bell) and Elsa (Idina Menzel)’s look for the sequel.
If you’ve seen Frozen 2 then you’ve already gotten to see how Anna and Elsa’s looks have changed. They go “into the unknown” in a quest to the Enchanted Forest and they dressed for the journey.
You know how awkward it is when two people wear the same outfit for a party. To avoid that in Frozen 2, Sastrawinata-Lemay made sure Anna and Elsa each had their own colors.
“Once we decided that Elsa will always be in light value, it is challenging to find a color that would hold the same brilliance and strength when their next to each other,” she said.
Anna wears a purple cape over her dark outfit. Sastrawinata-Lemay said there were over 100 variations of the costume before they found the proper alterations.
“This type of cape usually has a small opening for her arms,” Sastrawinata-Lemay said. “Because we need her to be able to move a lot and have a full range of motion we opened up the opening and that caused a challenge for our team to make it look good when she’s moving.”
To give you a sense of just how much Anna’s Frozen 2 costume changed, it began as a potential Elsa outfit.
“This costume is actually made for Elsa,” Sastrawinata-Lemay continued. “We knew that this is going to be an epic journey so the first thing that we did is shorten up her dress and then we also gave her pants and then we also give this cape to show the heaviness of her emotional state. But when we did this, it didn’t feel her anymore like the snow queen that we know. Elsa needs to stay light, bright and feel like ice.”
If you want to know just how interwoven costumes are into the story, you need only look at the original Frozen.
“You see in the first film, Elsa’s journey as she growing up. Things change a bit and as she gets older and she’s being more secretive and she’s more secluded, her silhouettes change and she becomes more restricted. She gets higher collars and longer sleeves and gloves and her, her hues deepen. She gets much darker and so that is an effort to help the audience know, to tell you the story that she’s being closed off from the world. It’s not until we ultimately get to see her let it go, that we bring her back to the hues that you meet her in when she’s very little.”

Elsa sings Frozen 2’s showstopper “Into the Unknown” after the mysterious voice awakens her at night. She’s still dressed for sleeping in the film’s most memorable musical moment.
“We knew that we had to design this as a nightgown,” Lee said. “Whatever she was wearing was a nightgown, so it’s not a dress. It’s a nightgown, but it’s an Elsa nightgown, so it can be pretty glamorous and that’s the fun with Elsa is that because we know that she can create her clothing via ice magic as she’s done in the past. We’re not beholden to restrict her materials to the real world materials that would be available in the Nordic region at the time.”
Elsa’s magic can create a nightgown that no human seamstress could.
“Elsa is allowed to have more sheer fabrics that are more ethereal,” Lee continued. “The etherealness of the fabrics that she wears is to help support this idea that she is this, this creature. She’s this magical being, but where we are restricted with her is in color. After ‘Let it Go,’ in particular, she needs to sit on the cool side of the spectrum. If we go too warm with her, you inherently feel like something’s wrong. So blues and cool colors are where she fits, so we ultimately chose to go in this sort of magenta violet hue for her.”
“Into the Unknown” also shows Elsa at her most casual. She doesn’t sleep in her traditional braid, and that was a big decision for the animators.
“This is a very iconic hairstyle for Elsa, her braid,” Lee said. “Ultimately for this sequence and this scene, even though it was tempting, it wasn’t the right choice because again, we wanted you to feel familiar. We wanted it to feel like you knew who these characters were. You’re having just a regular Friday night with them and this is the beginning of their journey and things may shift as you move along.”
It’s autumn in Arendelle and the leaves are changing colors, but Elsa is still the snow queen. She brings a little snow wherever she goes and that’s reflected in her main Frozen 2 dress.
“It was really important that we infuse this costume with snowflakes because that is Elsa and we want you to know that she is her true self still,” Lee said. “ She’s still adorned with snowflakes are everywhere, and they’re important for her. We even go down to the very deepest steps of calling out exactly what material we want for every little thing.”
Look, we don't even know what Baby Yoda's species is, but apparently now we know the cutie-pie character from The Mandalorian eats soup. In the latest episode of the Disney Plus streaming Star Wars series, which aired Friday, the undisputed star of the show looked like the star of the best Campbell's Soup commercial ever, standing and sipping hot sustenance from a perfect little mug. GettyKylie Jenner and Travis Scott surfaced together over the holiday weekend, but people thinking this means they're back together again might be sadly mistaken.
The former couple -- whom we've been told recently took a break -- were spotted out at the Agua Caliente Casino Friday in Palm Springs, where video of Kylie and Travis walking around together popped up online ... and sent people right out of their minds.

The reason Kylie and Travis didn't look romantic? It's possible it's because they simply haven't been lately. It's unclear what the current status of their relationship is, but based on everything we're seeing and hearing about this outing ... it appears to be more of the same routine they've been on for about a month or so now.
As we've reported ... KJ and TS are co-parenting baby Stormi, which means they see each other and hang out pretty often. In fact, Kylie even flew herself and the kid out to Houston a couple weeks ago to support Travis at his Astroworld event.
And yes, with the holidays fast approaching, we were told they'd be spending even more time together. So, this certainly seems to be that ... but it might also be the beginning of a true reconciliation.

公式サイトによると、昨年12月に「適応障害」と診断されたが、「完全に活動を休止せず出来る仕事は続けながら治療にあたりたい」と本人が希望したとし、医師の指導のもと、3月14日に「体調不良」としてグループ活動休止を発表しソロ活動を続けてきた。
しかし、回復の兆しが見えず「これ以上メンバーや事務所、そしてファンの皆様、関係者の皆様に余計な心配や迷惑をかけたくないと、本人から申し出があり、何度も話し合い、熟慮した結果、脱退と退所という苦渋の決断に至りました」と説明。「ファンの皆様、関係者の皆様には大変急なご報告となりましたことを心よりお詫び申し上げます」と謝罪した。
田中も自身のブログを更新。「日に日にグループ活動が思うようにできなくなっていく自分がいました。そして、昨年12月に病院で適応障害と診断されました。自分でもよく分からない、経験したことのない症状に戸惑い悩みました」と苦悩していたことを打ち明け「そのタイミングで本当のことをちゃんとお伝えしたかったのですが、色々熟慮した結果、体調不良のためという発表しか出来ずに、余計な心配や憶測、ご迷惑をおかけしてしまい申し訳ございませんでした」とファンにお詫び。
続けて「回復に向けて努めてまいりましたが、気持ちとは裏腹に一向に回復の兆しが見えませんでした。月日が経つにつれ、こんな状態にも関わらずBOYS AND MENと名乗ることに対しての心苦しさ、このまま迷惑をかけ続けることへの申し訳なさがどんどんと増していき、誠に勝手ではございますが、最終的に脱退、退所という決断をさせていただきました」と説明した。
初期メンバーの田中は「結成時から約10年間全てを捧げ愛情を注いできたBOYS AND MENからこのようなかたちで離れることになるとは私自身も想像もしていませんでした。復帰を信じ待ってくださっていた皆様、私の帰る場所を守ってくれていたメンバーのみんなを裏切ってしまい本当に申し訳ない気持ちでいっぱいです」と胸中を吐露。
今後については「改めて自分自身と向き合いながら、フリーランスで役者として活動していきます。皆様がいて自分が存在します。感謝の気持ちを忘れず、皆様に応援していただけるよう精進します」と記した。
BOYS AND MENも「メンバー9名で更なる飛躍を目指し、ボイメンらしくガムシャラに夢に向かって走り続けます」としている。
グルメロアーヌを知る者よ来たれ！ 西川くんです。2019年11月11日より配信がスタートしました、HDリマスター版『ロマンシング サガ３』（以下、『ロマサガ３』）。本作は1995年11月11日にスーパーファミコンにて発売された同名タイトルを、忠実にHDリマスター化しつつ、遊びやすくなる機能を追加した作品。発売日がオリジナル版といっしょというのは、なかなかニクい演出ですよね。
本記事では、『ロマサガ３』のプレイレビューをお届け。ちなみにオリジナル版ではミカエルやハリードをよく使っていたので、今回はほとんど触ったことのないカタリナ主人公でプレイ。仲間キャラクターも“ぞう”や“ようせい”など、当時あまり使っていなかった人たちを誘ってみました。リンリンちゃん（ツィー・リン）強いね！
まずは『ロマサガ３』について説明しましょう。すでに知っている人は、読み飛ばしてオーケーです。『ロマンシング サガ』シリーズとして3作目となる『ロマサガ３』は、スーパーファミコン後期に制作されたということもあり、グラフィックからバトルシステムにいたるまで、それまでの『ロマサガ』シリーズの集大成のようなタイトルです。
プレイヤーは8人のキャラクターからひとりを主人公に選び、それぞれの物語を進めていきます。町やダンジョンをどの順番で攻略するかは自由ですし、複数の仲間キャラクターから誰をパーティーメンバーにするかも自由な、“フリーシナリオ”を採用しているのが特徴です（ひとり旅も可能）。
戦闘は技や術を使って敵を倒していく、コマンドバトル。武器（素手含む）で攻撃していると、強力な技をキャラクターが閃くことがある“閃きシステム”は、『サガ』シリーズの大きな魅力。『ロマサガ３』は『ロマサガ』シリーズの中でも技が多彩で、ド派手な技をくり出せます。また、主人公が司令塔ポジションになって（バトルには参加せず）仲間たちに指示を出して戦うオートバトル“コマンダーモード”も用意されています。
本作最大の特徴は、豊富なイベントの数々。キャラクターの過去や感情を描くものはもちろん、トーナメント戦に参加したり、暴走する車に乗ってバトルしたり、龍と共闘したりなど、バトル面でも驚きのあるイベントがたっぷりと用意されているのです。さらに、大軍を率いて戦争をする“マスコンバット”や、お金のやり取りをして物件を買収する“トレード”といった、本編そっちのけでハマってしまうミニゲームもポイントです。
そして『ロマサガ』シリーズには欠かせない、作曲家・伊藤賢治氏による珠玉の名曲たちも魅力のひとつ。とくに『ロマサガ３』のバトル曲は大人気で、大ボス的な存在である四魔貴族たちとの戦いは、曲を聴くだけで盛り上がること間違いナシです。
難度が高めと言われる『サガ』シリーズですが、『ロマサガ３』の難度はそこまで高くありません。ほかのシリーズ作と比べても、かなり親切なゲームだという印象なんですよね。ですので、「『サガ』シリーズをプレイするのは初めて」という人にもバッチリオススメできるのが、『ロマサガ３』なのです。
ここからはHDリマスター版のお話。本作はHDリマスター版ということで、文字通りグラフィックがHD化しています。主人公たちなどのキャラクター、敵のグラフィックなどドット絵はそのままに、おもに背景がHDに対応し、美麗に進化したという感じ。
プレイ開始当初は、たとえば家の中の家具や食器に至るまで細かく描写されているせいか、あまりにも綺麗すぎて違和感さえ覚えました。が、それは一瞬のできごとでして、10分も遊べばすぐに慣れていき、美麗に描かれた新たな『ロマサガ３』の世界を堪能している自分がいました。聖王廟や魔王殿といった各地の名所は、かなり見ごたえがあって思わず「おおっ！」と声が出てしまいました。
また、敵グラフィックは一部ボス敵がアニメーションするようになりました（HDリマスター版『ロマンシング サガ２』や、『ロマンシング サガ リ・ユニバース』をプレイしている人には驚きはないかも）。たとえば姿を変化させる四魔貴族のひとり・ビューネイは、段階ごとにアニメーションが増えるなど、見ているだけでも飽きません。ネズミの集団・アルジャーノンも、かなり気持ち悪く蠢きます。うーん、きもい。
『ロマサガ２』のときもそうでしたが、オリジナル版では表示されていなかった装備重量がわかるなど、細かな部分がブラッシュアップ。セーブデータの数も大幅に増えているほか、オートセーブにも対応。また、バトル中に気軽にリセットできたりもします。オプションでは、常時ダッシュなども選べるようになりました。些細なことではありますが、いろいろと遊びやすくなっているんです。
また、大きな変更点としては、プレイのやり直しや周回プレイに対応したことでしょう。ニューゲームを選択した際、すでに存在しているセーブデータを読み込むと、覚えた技の極意、一部の装備品（聖王や魔王の遺物など）を除くアイテム、技力＆術力などがクリア後でなくても引き継いでゲームスタートできます。この機能のおかげで、“ほかの主人公のストーリーをサクっと見たい！”、“1周で数個しか手に入らないアイテムを大量に持ちたい！”なんて希望が叶うようになり、いろいろなプレイスタイルが生まれてうれしかったです。
なお、ブラッシュアップされたのはおもにユーザーインターフェースで、バトルの仕組みなどはオリジナル版と同じ。イベントの変更はほぼなく、追加された新たな要素はプレイをする前に“オン/オフ”を選べます。オリジナル版のよさプレイ感のまま遊びたい、という人は“オフ”にしてもいいですね。
本作より追加された“町長イベントの変化”と、新ダンジョン“暗闇の迷宮”。このふたつを体験してみた感想を述べましょう。
『ロマサガ３』、いやRPG史上最も腹立たしいイベントこと、町長に怪物退治を依頼される、いわゆる「私が町長です」。洞窟に主人公たちを閉じ込めて生贄にしたくせに、平気な顔で自己紹介する町長は、もはや伝説的な存在でした。しかし、なんと本作では町長イベントに続きが……。どんなイベントになるのかは、ぜひご自身の目で確かめてみてほしいです！
本作の大きな目玉とも言えるのが、新ダンジョン・暗闇の迷宮。ミューズの夢のイベントをクリアー後、ランスのアンナに話を聞くと出現します。
ダンジョンは暗闇の中の見えない道を進み、とあるキャラクターたちの過去の記憶を探るというもの。事前に発表されていた情報では“ユリアンとハリードの過去が語られる”とのことでしたよね。そのふたりだけでなく、じつはそのほかの人物の過去も語られることに驚きました！ たしかに、この人語られてないよな……なんて意外な人物の裏側が明かされるので、『ロマサガ3』ファンにはぜひ体験してほしい要素です。
なお、道中ではオリジナル版で幻の敵とされているトウテツやヤマが出現します。オリジナル版の設定では、一部敵種の最上位に位置する存在だったようですが、実際に戦ってみたところ、そこまで強くありませんでした（笑）。
ちなみに、ここで初登場となる装備アイテムも手に入りますので、ぜひチャレンジしてみてください。
メニュー画面にこれまでの冒険を辿る“冒険記”が追加されました。ゲーム終盤に、これまでどんな冒険をしてきたのか、冒険記を読んで思い出を振り返ってみてはいかがでしょうか。また、ひさびさにプレイを再開したときに、備忘録として活用もできますね。
さて、最後になりますが、今回プレイした雑感をお伝えいたしましょう。いろいろ昔を思い出しながらクリアーまで遊んだのですが……相も変わらず、楽しかったですね！ ついついトレードにハマってしまう、教授のダンスで笑っちゃう、グゥエインとの共闘に燃える！ 当時興奮した思い出そのままに遊べたのは、オリジナル版の完成度が非常に高かったからでしょう。あと、やっぱ、曲がいい！ 最高！ イトケンさん最高！
強いて言うのであれば、個人的にはHDリマスター版にもっと追加要素も欲しかったです。追加要素を楽しみたくないという人向けに、追加要素のオンオフ機能もあるわけですし、もう少し大胆な追加があってもよかったなと。たとえばですが、当時からウンディーネは仲間にできるのに、なんでボルカノは仲間にできないのか疑問に思っていたので、仲間も追加も欲しかったなぁ～、というのは高望みでしょうか。ネフト族とか、教授とか！
というのは、あくまで個人的な思い。オリジナル版よりも各段に遊びやすくなっていますし、“暗闇の迷宮”のエピソードはファン必見！ 対応機種も、ここに羅列したら読みにくいことこの上ないくらい満載ですので、『ロマサガ３』ファンも、初めての人も、ぜひ遊んでみてください。あ、下記記事が対応機種と、機種ごとの違いです！

堀江宏樹（以下、堀江） ただね、上級女官になればなるほど、御所暮らししていたことの記録をほとんど公（おおやけ）にはしていません。しかし、前回も出てきた大正天皇生母の柳原愛子（やなぎわら・なるこ）こと「早蕨典侍（さわらびのすけ）」さんは、姪の柳原白蓮（やなぎわら・びゃくれん）に、いろいろぶっちゃけトークしちゃってるんですね。
――柳原白蓮といえば、NHKの連続テレビ小説『花子とアン』で女優・仲間由紀恵が演じた、主人公の「腹心の友」・蓮子（れんこ）さんのモデルでしたっけ。
堀江 そうそう！ 大正天皇の従姉妹にあたる公家華族出身の女性なんですけど、政略結婚させられた夫を捨て、若い恋人と駆け落ちしたりするから、華族から除名されちゃった「不良」です。だからというか、因習には縛られないんですね、白蓮さんは。
叔母の柳原愛子がこっそり語った御所の内実を、彼女は書き残してくれています（笑）。例えば、美少女として有名だった柳原愛子には10歳を過ぎたころから、御所、つまり明治天皇から「私の女官にならないか？」というお誘いが頻繁に来たそう。これは天皇による“愛人女性”の青田買いみたいなもの。しかし、天皇の本当の目的に気付いた父親が、申し出を拒むのですね。娘にはちゃんと“正式”に結婚させてやりたい、と。すると明治天皇ではなくて、「明治天皇の母君にあたる英照皇太后にお仕えしないか？」と持ちかけられ、断れなかったといいます。
――そんなに熱意を伝えられたら、断れないかも……。そして？
堀江 毎日のように明治天皇は、英照皇太后のところにご機嫌を伺いにやってきて。結局、それは柳原愛子狙いということが誰の目にも明らかになり、2人は恋仲に……。
愛子は明治天皇との間に2人の皇子と、1人の皇女を生んだけれど、そのうち2人の皇子は幼くして亡くなってしまいます。すると、御所では「『小倉の局』なる女官の祟りだ」とささやかれたそうです。
Kid Rock has not backed down from his late-night stage tirade against Oprah Winfrey and other talk show hosts, which was posted online Friday morning.
The rocker, 48, real name Robert James Ritchie, tweeted a disparaging comment about Winfrey and her now-ended TV talk show on Friday, which appeared to alludeto his expletive-filled stage video posted on TMZ.
"My people tried to get me to do The Oprah Winfrey show years ago and her people wanted me to write down 5 reasons why I loved her and her show," Kid Rock tweeted. He added an emoji of an LGBTQ pride flag, before an expletive emphasizing his decision to decline the offer.
"End of story," he wrote.

The tweet came after TMZ posted a lewd video featuring Kid Rock lashing out at Winfrey ("The View" host Joy Behard, and Kathy Lee Gifford were also mentioned) at his Honky Tonk & Rock N' Roll Steakhouse in Nashville.
"Oprah Winfrey is like 'Hey, I want to get some white women to believe in this (expletive)," Kid Rock said, repeating lewd expletives. "And if you say that, you're like, 'Hey, well I'm pretty sure Kid Rock is a racist.' I'm like, okay fine. (Expletive)."
"I'm not a bad guy," said Kid Rock. "I don't like Oprah Winfrey or Joy Behar."
He went on: "They're like, you're (expletive) racist, I'm like, you're (expletive) weird. You call your people, I'll call mine."
The edited video shows the unsteady rocker posing for fans afterwards from the stage, and being helped away by security.

In a 2008 Independent newspaper "my secret life" interview, Kid Rock referred to Winfrey as his "real-life villain."
"She rubs me up the wrong way," he explained. "I just don't believe her. Maybe it's because I'm not one of the 150 million brainwashed women who heed her every word."
In Nov. 2018, Rock, a vocal Trump supporter, lashed out at liberal firebrand Behar on "Fox and Friends." The insult cost him the grand marshal's position at Nashville's Christmas Parade.
Two days into the five-day Thanksgiving holiday weekend, the strong survive while the rest are middling. It’s no surprise that Disney’s “Frozen II” is dominating the box office, with an amazing second weekend and a staggering total so far.
Other results are more modest. Lionsgate’s “Knives Out” opened well, with robust holdovers for “Ford v Ferrari” (20th Century Fox) and “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” (Sony); still-expanding “Queen & Slim” (Universal) looks promising. And yet, when all numbers come in, expect a lackluster total holiday number compared to recent years.
Notably, among the top five titles are three women directors: “Frozen II” (shared), “Beautiful Day,” and “Queen & Slim.”
Here’s the lay of the land going into Black Friday:
Totals Look Good, But Hardly Record
Last year marked the best of the last six Thanksgiving holidays, amassing $310 million for five days. Its Wednesday and Thursday came to $95 million. This year, that number is $82 million. While not every year has exactly the same weekend trajectory, this weekend should wind up at $185 million vs. last year’s $215 million.
That would make Thanksgiving weekend 2019, in sold tickets, a decent but not stellar seventh-best over the past ten years, thanks largely to “Frozen II.”

Audiences Want More “Frozen”
Disney jumped ahead of the usual Wednesday opening for an animated franchise title by opening “Frozen II” last weekend. The movie took in $130 million; the weekdays added $74 million; and the weekend is projecting to $80-100 million more. That would bring the total to $280-300 million domestic. Context: the first “Frozen,” which had a conventional Wednesday start, grossed a little under $100 million its first five days. The entire run, with spectacular holds, came in at a little over $400 million.
That the “Frozen” franchise is the biggest Disney Animation Studio success since “The Lion King” is proven by the initial “Frozen II” run — well ahead of the first. Prospects are also bright for upcoming December sequels “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” (Disney) and “Jumanji: The Next Level” (Sony).
“Queen & Slim”
Two Originals Pick Their Spot
If the weekend otherwise isn’t at record levels, that’s due to the lack of a second blockbuster–as studios remain reluctant to challenge the Disney juggernaut. Two atypical holiday releases stepped into the vacuum, with good results.
Standout among the two is Rian Johnson’s “Knives Out.” With nearly $15 million in the till (including some early shows last weekend), the weekend should add easily add $20 million more, with $25 million possible. That would bring it to $35-40 million as a start — way above expectations, and a terrific result for an off-beat murder comedy. For a modest $40-million high-concept title with a mature ensemble cast and strong reviews, that’s as good as you could wish.
“Queen & Slim” had a targeted release at around 1,625 theaters (around half of “Knives Out”), with about $3.5 million for its first two days. The lower-budgeted $20 million movie projects to $8-9 million more for the weekend, around $12 million total. The film, about a couple on a first date who kill a cop in self-defense, has landed favorable reviews.
Both films showed strength with A- Cinemascores and unusually strong second-day response (most day-before holiday Thanksgiving openers drop day two; these both were about the same). Word of mouth is key for both. “Knives” projects to be the #2 film for the weekend, “Queen” #5.
“A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood”

“Ford v Ferrari” and “It’s a Beautiful Day In the Neighborhood” Hold Well
James Mangold’s car-racing film slightly edged out Marielle Heller’s Mr. Rogers film by $3 million last weekend. This weekend they are neck and neck, with both projecting to $11-13 million. In fact, “Beautiful Day” beat out “Ford” $3.1 million to $2.8 million yesterday. After some initial resistance, it could be connecting with audiences just in time.
Though Sunday, the week earlier-opening “Ford” will have hit about $80 million, with “Beautiful Day” nearing $35 million. The former cost about $100 million, and is showing early international appeal. The latter was made for only $25 million, so if these early numbers lead to multiple week interest and even a Christmas boost, it could become a modest winner for Sony.
Streaming Competition Doesn’t Seem to Be Hurting Theaters
We can assume that many people streamed Martin Scorsese’s “The Irishman” on its first two days on Netflix. But there is no sign that it’s affecting theater attendance. Nor has the new Disney+ dented “Frozen II.” This might be a long term concern, but at this point it’s not a problem.
While “The Irishman” appeared at home, its print count doubled to 500 theaters nationally Wednesday. That’s close to as many that were available to Netflix when most chains shut them out. No figures to report yet, but expect it to continue to find interest on screen.
The most recent of their awards contenders, “The Two Popes,” opened four platform theaters on Wednesday. Individual theaters with ticket sale options showing suggest minor initial interest, though that might improve over the weekend.
